Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Adventure Sports Club (JKASC) Sunday organized a snow trek to Lidwas in which four of its members participated.
The trek was first of its kind when snowshoes where used.
The trek to Lidwas was first trek of the year 2019 by any group after recent snowfall.
JKASC has already conducted many activities including the recent 200 km solo ultra marathon from Kargil to Srinagar, which Hamid Aziz completed in two days.
It conducts regular sky running events on Sundays on Zabarwan hills in which many of its members are participating. The sky running is led by some of the known athletes of the Valley like Hamid Aziz, Muneer Sultan, Muzamil Hussian, Shah Suhail. The adventure club also organized few trekking events in Srinagar for female members who were led by Valley’s known mountaineer Nahida Manzoor.
JKASC will also organise more snow treks to Lidaws and Mahadev, which is the highest peak in Srinagar and to other nearby hills to promote adventure sports.
