Kashmir goes HiFi, Srinagar airport is WiFI

After announcing free services at Tulip Garden which opens on Sunday, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) will also provide services for the travellers at Srinagar airport.

General Manager (BSNL) JK Mufti Musharib Gul said people will be able to use the internet facility at Srinagar airport very soon.

He said that equipment for the internet facility at Srinagar Airport will be installed in few days.

“100 MB data will be provided free to the travellers at Srinagar airport and after the exhaustion of the limit, the user can avail internet facility through coupons,” said Mufti.

He further stated that if a user has a BSNL broadband connection or BSNL 3G connection he can utilize it as per the plans they have.

“There will be with no additional cost,” said Mufti.

Director Srinagar Airport Sharadh Kumar said the free facility will be available at Srinagar airport with in four days.

He however said will be free for 20 minutes and after that internet data usage will be charged.

A user has to click on the network and feed his mobile numbers on which they will get an OTP to activate the internet facility.

Mufti said that in phase I, BSNL will bring 30 locations under zones which also include tourist resorts like Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg.

“We are going to include world famous tourist destinations under free zones and gradually other places will also have facilities,” said Mufti.

Notably, BSNL will start providing free facility to the people from Sunday with the opening of Tulip garden where hundreds of visitors are expected to turn up.

This will be first time that any part of the J&K will be a zone where public in general can avail the facility.

“For the first time, free internet service will be provided to people in Tulip Garden and the internet speed will be faster than 4G,” said Mufti.
