Excerpts

Tell us about your company?

Vietravel is one of the leading travel companies in Vietnam. We organise tour mostly for Vietnamese to many countries. But most of our clients visit India for sightseeing. We bring good tourist traffic to India though our company. We also visit India to ensure the travellers from our country are at safe place and visit right places.

You have been sending tourists to all India states except J&K especially Kashmir.

There is lot of media talk going on about Kashmir troubles so we have been avoiding this place earlier. We did not want to send our tourist here.

What attracted you to Kashmir this time?

This time of the year, Indian plains are very hot. All tourist places in India have over 40 degree temperatures right now which makes it difficult for us to convince tourists to visit India. But we wanted to find an alternative so that we can bring tourists to India.

We along with our main agent from India Sumit Mathore who runs travel company by the name of Top Travels decided to give a shot to Kashmir. Now we along with Sumit Mathore visited Kashmir and we will also visit Leh where from we will fly back to Delhi.

What are your impressions on your first visit to Kashmir?

We knew the temperature would be moderate here. But it is really cool and we are enjoying every bit of it. We visited Muhgal Gardens in Srinagar and other tourist places like Gulmarg and Pahalgam. Kashmir is really a paradise on earth. We are missing out on great natural wonders which God has bestowed on this place.

Were your concerned about the security situation here?

Yes, we are apprehensive about Kashmir’s situation as is highlighted in media. After spending few days here, I am surprised why media portrays Kashmir negatively. I think media is just blowing things out of proportion. People here are very warm and hospitable. They are even more beautiful in looks than any other place I have visited. We feel totally safe here and we are enjoying warmth of the people. It is really a good place for a tourist to visit even during summers when temperature in other Indian states is unbearable.

Back home, will you keep Kashmir in the tour itineraries for your clients?

I think I will send them frequently here. I am amazed at the hospitality shown by the people here. They are very welcoming and they want to serve tourists. Besides, this place is good for photography. The local culture, art and craft are also amazing. We are staying in a houseboat and everything in this houseboat is amazing. The craft work on this houseboat is beautiful. Our clients will love to visit this place once we tell them about natural beauty and the culture, heritage, art and craft and the people. I will recommend travellers to visit Kashmir.
